Students Share a Few Words About JET...

"I must say that I really needed that time on Friday and Saturday to just live life. I smiled more last Friday night than I had in a long time. It was so different there are people talking about genuine things..."
"I realized that this was definitely not what I was expecting. It was completely different in the best way possible. Everyone I met was friendly and engaging and I learned so much about Judaism and the culture surrounding it. Everyone seemed to want to go out of their way to make sure I felt like I was a part of it all, they even had me raise and roll up the torah which I never thought I would be given the chance to do. I was making friends as well as memories and for the first time in a very long time I was feeling tranquil and centered within myself. Most importantly I was having fun and trying to absorb everything. I had no idea where any of my previous negative associations came from. I was able to really focus on the Shabbat and my relationship with God, and for a day and a half that was all I cared about. It was a welcomed break from the everyday repetitiveness I am surrounded with and I couldn't help but feel rejuvenated and grateful."
"I was worried I wouldn't find a place that I could really feel comfortable. Then, I found I could not have asked for a better way to feel I had a Jewish home away from home. Rabbi Ari and Avigial made me feel so welcome while helping me learn so much about Judaism too. Through classes like Maimondes, and delicious, fun, meaningful Shabbat dinners on campus, I was able to meet many other Jewish students and develop strong friendships with them."
"JET YP is so interesting that it makes my graduate school seem SO boring! Since I moved back to Chicago I was looking for a great way to connect to my Jewish peers. Through JET YP I have met and made friends with great and cool Jewish young professionals! Thank you SO much!"
